Plakatatak is an art project coming along with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the signing of the “Treaty between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Poland on Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation”. For this, the Goethe Institute is launching different activities, Plakatatak being the most important one.
Five Polish and five German designers have been invited to create posters related to themes delivered by a German-Polish duo of journalist/philosophers. Over three months, starting from the 4th of June, 50 different posters will be displayed through all the city of Warsaw, together with a bunch of expositions. The invited artist are: Lex Drewinski, Agata Dudek, Götz Gramlich, Frank Höhne, Krzysztof Iwanski, Tymek Jezierski, Uwe Loesch, Mario Lombardo, Ariane Spanier, Studio Syfon.
My Posters are dealing with issues like Urbanisation, Gentrification, the spirit of Europe, low- vs. High-Tech and the Commercialization of sports.
