Help build Haiti

It has been proven that better building standards and proper political disaster management significantly help prevent widespread loss of life when earthquakes strike.
Using satellite imagery of Haiti’s capital, Port au Prince, the poster shows the devastating effect the earthquake of January 12 – felt most by the lowest strata of society living in the slums and in poor housing conditions.
The superimposed gold blocks therefore serve two purposes. They spell out a call for action to help rebuild Haiti through material contributions. However, they also symbolize a call for a reconstruction effort in Haiti with better living standards for all and with a more stable, less corrupt political system. With better economic opportunities and more equality for the citizens of Haiti, the level of devastation can be better contained in future.
Simply to rebuild Haiti in its present state would not serve the best interests of the people living there. The poster aims to call attention to a long-term relief and construction effort, as opposed to short-term solutions.

Labels are all around us. In the media. In the public domain. Even in our homes. Our perception has become saturated with brands. But the question we should be asking ourselves is what is this doing to our brains? Is our brain under attack from the effects of ubiquitous branding? Or do our brains - and, ultimately, our behaviour - have an impact on the brands we perceive?

Better HOME city, better life.
To me, a better life in my home city means striking a balance between nature and mankind, between mobility and residence, between community and individuality, between civil society and a citizen's eco-responsibility. The central motif is therefore a mobile. Installed as a fixed structure in homes, it turns freely in the air and is the perfect symbol of balance - despite its asymmetrical form. The iconic motifs used are from Erwin Poell's imagery of Heidelberg. Linked together as parts of the mobile, they symbolize the equilibrium between Heidelberg's man-made landmarks and structures and the city's natural surroundings.
